Planning for images of a black hole: New image analysis tools presented in an article in AAS Nova

The EHT is closer than ever to its goal, as the project continues to increase its resolving power and sensitivity as more telescopes join the system. Another important aspect of this project exists, however: the ability to analyze and characterize the images it produces in a meaningful way. Recently, a team of scientists led by Lia Medeiros (University of Arizona, University of California Santa Barbara) has demonstrated that a novel approach — principal component analysis — may be a useful tool in this process. First General Assembly

This last Friday, HESA’s Board of Directors held their first General Assembly this term. We appreciate everyone that was in attendance either in-person or virtually via the live stream. Executive Summary

The Research Administration and Compliance Systems team delivered a series of GMAS releases between March and June of 2018 in support of the ITCRB Financial Invoicing and Reporting Strategic Transition (FIRST) project. These releases represent the initial phase of the project and are focused on building features to support sponsor billing, invoicing, and reporting. The second phase of the project was focused on financial transaction monitoring. The September 28, 2018 release included numerous features relating to transaction monitoring. See details below...
