Yanyan graduated from Tsinghua University with M.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2015. While at Tsinghua, she worked in the National Center for Electron Microscopy in Beijing and was awarded the Outstanding Master Graduate Award. Her thesis was awarded the Outstanding Master Dissertation Award.
Yanyan received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Boston College in 2020. While at BC, she worked in the lab of Prof. Dunwei Wang studying dinuclear heterogeneous catalysts (DHCs) supported on metal oxides supports for water oxidation, CO oxidation and C-H bond activation. She received the Dissertation Fellowship and Brian Lawrence Gray Award for Best Posters at BC.
